How this Guitar Fuzz circuit works
The input enters the 741 Op-amp and the output wave form is fed back and clipped by diodes D1 and D2 giving a “squared off” sine wave. Fuzz is one of the classic guitar effects, and this simple circuit generates a rich overdriven fuzz effect with plenty of sustain. The circuit is very compact it could be built into guitars or amps that do not have built in fuzz. The circuit does not use much battery power, so a standard 9V alkaline battery will last many years even when used every day! By the end of this project you will have built a great sounding in line guitar effect. An on/off switch and indicator light ensures you don't leave your fuzz box on while not in use.
